how i spent my birthday :)

yesterday was my birthday :) my 21st birthday, of course. after work, carl picked up punkin and brought her home. she had fallen asleep in her car seat, so we left her in it. carl left to go pick up dinner. he texted me when he was headed home. then he called me (we don't often talk on the phone, so this was a little odd).

"hello?" i answered the phone.

"um. i need you to bring my spare car key to cvs. i locked my keys in the car," he explained.

"okay, i'll be right there."

i packed up punkin - thankfully she was still in her car seat and ready to go. we pulled up, and carl was standing by his car. i rolled down my window and gave him his spare keys without saying a word.

"am i in trouble?" he asked. "you can put this in the group chat."

um. because being able to tell people things makes it okay? i didn't say anything :)

we got home, and i fed tootie some sweet potatoes. carl said he needed to go downstairs and put some laundry in the dryer.

"WHEN DID YOU START A LOAD OF LAUNDRY?" i am the laundry nazi.

"a few days ago," he said.

omfg. laundry has been sitting in the washing machine for a few days?!?!? mentally, i was freaking out.

he went downstairs and came back up with an ice cream cake that had lit candles :)

it was a really nice evening, and i wasn't really mad - it was just funny :)

punkin's new trick.

on tuesday, we saw punkin roll from her back to her stomach for the first time unassisted! she started rolling from her tummy to her back when she was about six weeks old because she haaaaates being on her tummy. so, we knew getting her to roll onto her tummy would be a challenger.

monday night and tuesday night she slept 11-12 hours straight each night! hallelujah. however, last night, she decided her crib time would be better spent practicing her new trick - rolling from her back to her tummy. around 3 a.m. she woke up and made enough noise to wake us up. yet she didn't seem upset at first. she simply rolled from her back to tummy and back a few times. yes, she was probably just hungry.

because dessert is priority.

me: pestering carl about when i should schedule my tire appointment and he doesn't answer.

carl: still no response.

me: when should i try to schedule it?????

me: and why didn't you bring me dessert?

carl: Really?

me: WHEN SHOULD I TRY TO SCHEDULE MY TIRES
